Artist Statement: The piece entitled 'Dissolve' was created for the Renew project, which celebrates the rebirth of the elements and the reclamation of the celestial that surrounds us all. With this piece, the artist sends a message that this life too shall pass, as all things must.

Nature is a powerful, awe-inspiring force and one that cannot be ignored. While our way of life seems so certain to us, with luxury items, boundaries, policies, rules, and status, we must remember that these things are transitory. Only nature is eternal.

Michel Saint Hilaire is a Red River Metis Franco-Manitoban, multimedia artist, who began his career working mostly with pencil. Michel's experimental approach to mediums, along with an improvisational style and contemporary aesthetic create bold statements that have their roots in nature, with unexpected contrasts to architectural, man-made and pop imagery.
