Samantha Neufeld (Administrative Coordinator, Marlene Street Resource Centre): "We
applied for a grant back in 2012. We received one from Neighbourhoods Alive (LIFT)!
Kayla, who was our Program Coordinator in the summer of 2013, sat down with a few of
the kids from the neighbourhood who attend our program. The kids actually came up
with a number of these designs."
"Art City came in after these designs were down on paper and helped frame what the kids
brought to the Mural. They designed the final outline. The kids then helped paint it to
bring it to life; and then Art City gave it some finishing touches with minor details at the
end. It took the kids about a week and a half to do it! The youngest kid was six and the
oldest about 11. There were about 20 kids involved all together."
