Reid Edgeworth: "This one deals with cycles of life- predator and prey; life and life
consuming other life. It's a raw and natural process. The big fish is a pickerel,
one of the main fish harvested in this area. The boat in the painting is one of the originals
used by the company; and is today parked out at the Selkirk Marine Museum. At the
beginning of the project that was one of the first things I did- go out there, talk with the
people, take lots of pictures of the boat, and get imagery going in my head."
