Each year, we lose some good outdoor art in Winnipeg. For the year indicated, here's a last look at, a last goodbye to some of the artwork that has disappeared that year.

Transit Controller Box, 4 sides, wrap around Mural, Oct 2008
One Shot Enamel, oil based, on metal, 26" x 70", 49" x 70" cube

Sarah Collard: "It highlights the famous harvest sunsets, busy streets and loyal transit system (contemporary). Bus #14 is driving towards St. Mary's Road and is photographed turning off of Portage Avenue. The words "Hard Core Hockey" are seen in the window of the MTS Centre, suggesting another activity in this busy town with the bus on the left providing the way. When people exit the MTS Centre they get a bird's eye view of the glass MTS tower, wrapped on two sides of the box. This composition has since been renamed "Past and Present" due to the contrast of the contemporary tower and the old fashioned car. Overlapping the old and new images creates a sense of history and significance. It is located outside the entrance of Mountain Equipment Coop near the newly refurbished bus shelter."

The One Shot Enamel I used on all of the controller boxes is an oil based traditional sign painters paint that was purchased at ND Graphics on St. James; and it is expensive!!
