925 Portage Avenue

Designed by Jeanette Jerome and rendered by Belle Fosh Signs for MLCC and Liquormart. The building was demolished in early 2004 to make way for a new development.

Original notes on this wall:

Jeanette Jerome: “For the older work at the old Winnipeg Supply on Portage... the owner was a fan of the artist Rousseau...and wanted a hidden animal style with lots of different things happening, & scenes within a scene, etc. The funny story there is that he was sent a really nasty letter from some "humane" source.... apparently the animals being shown as caged had raised some question as to his treatment of animals. He wrote back in the same ‘serious’ vein, that he had to have them put into cages, after they had consumed numerous humans that were previously on the paving stone walkway alongside the lady and the parasol!!!! Good answer! I have a copy of that letter somewhere with the original artwork, I think.”

“Resti Manimtim and another artist at Belle Fosh did that one".
