'Winnipeg, A City of All Seasons'
This Mural project occurred in 1999, and was rendered by students from Dufferin School, Victoria Albert and Pinkham Schools, under the direction and leadership of Mandy van Leeuwen. The Murals were sponsored by Take Pride Winnipeg and Downtown Winnipeg BIZ. They were lost in late 2008 when the building underwent extensive renovation.

Original notes follow===

Mandy van Leeuwen: “Tom Ethans of Take Pride Winnipeg, Jason Andrich of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, and myself collaborated to create a project for schools nearby. We wanted these kids to show their pride to the downtown area near where their schools are. Today I’m sure they carry on that sense of pride- with our hopes that we have been a part in providing a good example to these kids.”

“These four Murals were painted by the Kindergarten students of the four schools. I was the instructor; it was one of my first teaching experiences! As you can see by the quality of work, young kids produced them: they are cute!

I let the kids come up with ideas to incorporate into each picture- and some used an attack of birds (my favourite), colourful buildings, people/cars, etcetera. I encouraged and helped them draw into the Mural, but left its results mostly up to the kids. Each Mural I had previously structured into a colouring book formula on crezone panels. They were all essentially the same scene but each a different season. I spent an hour or two at each school, and was at all four schools each day. The four Murals were completed on the fourth day.”
